In-person Information Sessions to Review Key Changes in the new 2024 Building Code
Ontario's new Building Code, which comes into effect on January 1, 2025, will help reduce regulatory burdens for the construction industry and make it easier to build housing. We previously shared information about the province's training program to support the sector through this transition. As part of this training plan, the ministry will conduct eight in-person roadshows across the province.
These one-day in-person sessions will provide further information to explain key technical and administrative changes in the new Code and address your questions.
Here are dates and locations of the first four in-person sessions:

A separate future CodeNews issue will be released soon to provide information on the remaining four sessions in Ottawa, London, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay once the scheduling and logistics are finalized.
Please note that these sessions are independent of any other training provided by other organizations and offer another unique opportunity for direct engagement with Ministry staff.
Registrations will be made on a first come first serve basis. Due to space limitations, attendees will be required to show proof of registration.
As part of its ongoing support efforts, the Ministry also published additional Technical Bulletins on August 22, 2024 (CodeNews Issue 358), and hosted webinars during the last two weeks of August (CodeNews Issue 360). The recordings and presentation materials from these sessions were made available to the public on September 10, 2024 (CodeNews Issue 361).
